1500 rpm tickover after exhaust mod. 335 ??

I am experiencing a change in cold start tickover for my e91 335iA.... up to 1500 rpm`s for like 10-15 secs before it starts slowing slowly.

I have put on quad endpipes and the rest of the exhaust is standard. However the vacuum operated "thing" (flux capasitor) that sat on the left side exhaust had to go to fit the dual pipes on the left side. It operated some closing valves on the left exhaust tip making the exhaust move into a connecting tube over to the right side. I plugged the vacuum hose after removing the valves and the "thing".

Why am I experiencing this high tickover ? Took the car to the dealer and there were no fault messages in the computer...... Cant really afford going back there as I came out with a signed contract for a e93.... I don`t dare to think of what I may come out with the next time...

I don't know if I believe this because a larger diameter or more free flowing exhaust on a turbo car will always improve spool time, so how can choking it off with a closed valve help it spool up faster? I'm relatively new here so maybe you know something I don't.
