Modding a Lease??
I've been modding my car even though its a lease. Does the dealer even care if you mod the lease? If they void the warranty its not really my car to begin with, so how would that work?

you might want to read your lease agreement a bit more closely. You are responsible for returning the car in specific condition at the end of the lease. If you somehow break something and it is deemed that you have voided the warranty I can't even imagined how much they might fine you at the end. suspension, wheels, exhaust etc aren't a big deal you just have to return them to stock before you turn the car in. if you don't they will charge you the cost to do so. Now, if you are running some kind of tune that's a whole other can of worms and I'd refer back to my initial statement. |

I was also lease then started to mod. I started modding the car the first month woth the understanding that i would have to return it to stock. I decided to keep the car cause there aren't a lot of 4 door cars that handle as well as the 335 (not to mention the engine).

I understand i have to return it back to stock when i return the car. I wouldnt take it back any other way. What i mean is when the car goes in for service and all these parts are installed... Would it be a problem?

Possibly, they might fine you some amount of money. I dont know how they would do that, because then they couldnt CPO it, unless they dont care about mods.

leasing is pretty much the same as a traditional purchase. There is a term, usually 24-48 months, and an agreement that the car will be returned in a certain condition & milage when returned.if a car costs 30k, and after 2 years its worth 20k, you pay the difference plus intrest. A dealer does not have to take a car back on a lease return. All manufactures are different, Honda gave my dealer a couple hundred dollars for processing the paperwork. I remember that this one lady had to pay like 700 dollars to put OEM tires on the car. the ones she had on her accord were new, just not OEM. All in all, most people with lease returns had to fork over a little bit of money before you could turn it in. Getting to my point. If they see that you have changed the engine components and void the warranty, they could say that the car is not in condition for resale and deny your turn in, leaving you to pay 20k. Warranty is the name of the used car game.
