Procede V5 and SES light?

I have been searching this forum and reading about V5 for the last 3-4 days and have decided to upgrade from V3 to V5. But now I cant seem to find the answer to a question.

If V5 effectively automatically clears codes associated with tunes and clears the SES light when there is nothing really wrong with your car,...then how does it ever turn on an SES light if there really is something seriously wrong with your car. As someone who recently had an SES light come on with V3 installed when my HPFP failed I wonder how would V5 have handled this situation? Would it have cleared the SES light and my car still would be running poorly because of a failed HPFP? I am still in the novice stages of tuning experience so any input would be appreciated. Just trying to figure out if V5 could potentially mask a real problem. If I know Shiv I suspect he has thought of this and has means to deal with this situation.

Thanks.

My understanding is that only certain codes (tuner and catalyst I believe) are cleared. I also believe that if some codes trip (I know HPFP plausibility is one) then CAN clear is automatically disabled. Hopefully Shiv can chime in and give you a more exact answer.

if there is an issue with the car the codes WONT be cleared by the Procede. only certain codes tuner and catalyst are automatically cleared.
you need to physically clear them yourself to removed them. I have bunch of 02 signal codes that keeps popups and that tells me i need to change an 02 sensor so all works as designed.
