E93 convertible best practices
I'm happy to say I will be getting my 07 e93 in two weeks!
Can you guys give me some pointers best practices of maintaining the car, especially the rooftop? How do I lubricate the convertible motor? Should I open/close the top often to keep it running or save the motor by using it less? Any best practices to keep my car new an problem-free would be awesome! BTW-I'm new to bimmer. Thanks! |

I've had mine a few years now. I don't do anything special to it other than run it through the car wash every week. It's a solid car and doesn't require any special treatment. You'll be happy with it.

Nah, the entire roof is listed as 16k, but you'll never have a situation where the entire thing needs to be replaced. Unless you roll it...
Over it's life you may need to replace the rubber seals at some point - a couple hundred bucks. Maybe the hydraulic motor. Maybe. Im sure the car will be 10 years plus before that's even a thought. Don't stress over the drop top it's solid. 70k on mine so far no issues. |
