Sprint's New Kyocera Echo

Very interesting phone. I love it when companies try new things. Instead of trying to make a higher res screen or more computing power. They thought outside the box.

Interesting idea. Now no matter which side you drop it on, you're fucked.

And no way to really put a good protective case on it.

Not a bad design IMO.

How so? One screen is under the other...it's like most other slide-out phones but they replaced the keyboard with another screen.

Well, you can cover everything except the bottom screen (but you can cover it with a screen protector).

It looks like the screen is only on one side when it's closed.

A case is probably impossible in this scenario still, but when companies make their devices out of good materials, most people don't need a case whatsoever.

I don't know anything about Kyocera's phones, nor their ability to support updates and refreshes to phones that have already been out for a while. Anyone who has experienced the gap between HTC's and Samsung's quickness to support updates and refreshes of Android OS knows there can be a huge discrepancy with the Android experience based on the manufacturer.
