Time to announce the location:
The spring meet will be held at... ::drum roll:: The Berlin Turnpike in Newington, CT! It's central to most users that registered to vote for the location (everywhere from Rochester, NY to New Jersey to Boston to Maine). It's also very easy to get to (not far from I-91 and I-84), and very well known by our old school members, while easy to find for the newer members. Just so everyone knows, the location of the summer meet (yes, I said SUMMER meet), will be heavily determined by the location of the attendees of the spring meet, so get people in your area to go if you want the meet closer to you! Hope to see everyone there, and make sure you continue to vote for the date. We're still close in the voting between April 1st, April 21st, and April 28th.

It wouldn't surprise me if at least half a dozen members on bimmerforums will be coming down from the Boston area.

We usually do a ton of chatting about cars.....maintenance, mods, etc...then we usually split up into groups and go off for our own things, like grabbing something to eat, cruising the pike, etc...

Did we finalize a date yet?
Let's hope my 335i is running again by then. Sigh. (10 days and counting so far.)

Saturday 2/24: Got the dreaded, "Engine malfunction! Reduced power." message in Boston.
Monday 2/26, 9 PM: Called Roadside Assistance to transport the car to the dealer. Asked THREE times to confirm that they were sending a flatbed; the guy showed up with a conventional tow truck. I refused the tow. Took until 12:30 AM to get somebody to my house with the right truck ... the guy came from about 30 miles away. Tuesday 2/27, around 11:30 AM: Dealer calls. It's not the fuel pump, it's the DME. BMW is coding one for the car; it's due at the dealer on Thu. Thu 3/1: Dealer calls. No DME. Turns out they need an additional level of approval. Unit is due on Monday. Mon 3/5: I call the dealer. The DME is in. Car is running better, but still not right. They need to do some more parts. (I think it was #1 and #2 injectors.) Tue 3/6: The got the parts...but they're the wrong ones. Next step is anybody's guess. Oh, and no loaner. Thank goodness for my 5-year-old wreck -- the M5. (Which had been down with a dead battery, which was replaced THE DAY BEFORE the 335i crapped out. Talk about good timing!!!)

http://forum.myspace.com/index.cfm?f...upID=105549039 Maybe you can organize a group to fly there. Call it the 'Berlin Airlift' or something like that.

I'm not sure if any airport in Eastern CT can handle more than a 2-seater.
