Castrol Magnatec VS Edge

Any pitfalls in buying one or the other?

I think Magnatec is Castrols older oil brand, I think they replaced it with Edge.

I was wrong they still make magnatec but Edge is for higher performance engines which should in theory should be better than the basic magnatec. The price for edge should also be much higher.

I don't think any Magnatec oils meet the BMW LL04 Spec.

Magnatec is not fully synethetic and does not meet either LL01 or LL04 specification. It is not suitable for use in any modern BMW.
