Be careful buying a condo downtown. They may take a decade to reverse and increase again.

Looked for the same here, and got lost in the pics of this house. Not the hillbilly living people think TN is.

psh that thing is tiny. where are you supposed to park the 747?

actually, for $12.5M, that's a pretty good bargain, considering the house is 32,000 sq ft. a house like that in dallas would easily be double that price, where those type of houses would be.

In my area, not much at all...if anything

But just around the corner in Riverside, Moreno Vally, San Bernardino...You can get a 5 bedroom house with a big ass lot, pool etc...built in the last 5 years for around $350k.

Down in San Diego, if you go a bit South to Chula Vista they have very nice homes/condos for that range that are a good size.

What are the taxes?!?! Homes are cheap everywhere but it seems like the taxes are still high. At least in the surrounding counties near NYC. A lot of people were forced out of their homes in Nassau County because they were unable to afford the property taxes on their home. Some had lived in it for generations. It's amazing how the value of your home can drop 50% but your taxes still go up.

downtown area? you need to reconsider and check how much HOA is...last time I checked they were in th $800 range. Check north or south and be in your budget maybe less...(ie scripps poway pkway, will be around $300k for a nice 1k sq ft 2bd/2ba with garage)

I don't wanna derail this but I'd much rather invest in something like that and have moderate living quarters than an expensive/highly priced home.
