19x10 43+ too conservative in the rear?

for a e90? I was thinking about a 285 tire to fill the gap.

285s might rub.

I'd stick with 275 tire and throw on a spacer to flush it out instead. Let me know as I can set you up with a spacer kit for your wheels.

Its only 5mm more conservative then what we generally recommend, which is a 10 +38. I would stick with 275's because 285's will most likely cause rubbing issues.
