Fellow Forum members,
It's been a rough week for my ride. 3 days ago, some schmuck backed into my front bumper while it was parked and took off without leaving a note. You can imagine how helpless one feels when they get home and to their utter dismay find their car with a dent. I was so pissed, but alas took the car to my dealer and they fixed it yesterday. They detailed the car, everything looked good. So I park my car in my building garage (need key to get into it/no video surveillance though) at 6 PM and then.... This morning around 10 am my neighbour wakes me up and informs me that someone has stolen my rims and tires!?! I thought he was joking, and grabbed my camera and went down into the garage and found the car on a jack (drivers side) and cinder block (right side). Looked like a professional job and targeted. No other car (there was a 06' 330i parked closed to mine with OEM 17" rims untouched) had any vandalism or broken into. So my request is if you see the following spec. rims and tires for sale on kijiji.ca/craigslist/Facebook Marketplace/autotrader.ca - please post the link on this thread and let me know: Tires: 4 Bridgestone Blizzak WS70's 225/45R17 [Non RFT's] Rims: 4 Rial Salerno's (5 spoke) Note: BMW centre caps and Nitrogen valve caps installed They left the lug nuts... I have already filed an official police report (they actually came to inspect the car for finger prints), along with an Insurance claim and the car has been towed to the dealer for a thorough inspection and repairs. Wont happen till Tuesday and now I am without a car ![]() Luckily I had my summer tires and rims and had my tow guy install them so he could tow the car after the cops arrived. What a nightmare. I have to admit it could have been worse but shite, what a pain in the a$# to go through on a long weekend. I hope we can find these punks. I just bought this set from TireRack.com back in Nov. 2010. Thanks everyone, really appreciate your help! Update: For the folks asking about wheel locks, do a search on youtube and see how easy it is to unlock wheel locks. They are a deterrent, not FAIL PROOF. These punks knew exactly what they were doing. They had gloves on, were super quick (no one saw them!?!) and brought a jack and fricken cinder block to add insult to the injury. Pix up... Rial Salerno close up ![]() Bad quality but this was right after the install in Nov. 2010 of the Blizzak WS70's on the Rial Salerno 5 spoke rims ![]() What I woke up to this morning ![]() ![]() ![]() If you notice in this pic, the rear right side rotor has hit the ground...argh. F$%kers also scratched up my driver's side door. ![]() ![]() ![]()

arrgh, brutal. same thing happened to my old Jetta back when I was living at home. To add insult to injury, the pricks used the interlock brick from our own driveway to prop the car up. People like this should be put down like a rabid dog.

Just wanted to thank everyone for sharing their support and sentiments. I was explaining to the mrs how bimmerpost is like a fraternity of like-minded enthusiasts who understand & bond with one another through their singular passion of cars (and in our case our BMW's). Thanks again for your support, it means a lot.
It could have been a lot worse, and I'm grateful for where things are at. Have to move on and not let this get to me.

Last spring same thing happened to me. I had a set of Dunlop Winter 3D Sport almost brand new in 225/45/17 in a nice rims for my Acura TSX last winter, and I leave those rims/tires @ my backyard in spring for a shorter while. Someone jumped in and took those rims/tires away. I didn't bother to call the police or anything as they won't do shit, and insurance deduction is $500 but I was so pissed. I feel your pain

Are wheel locks even effective with pros like this? If you don't have comprehensive insurance, is stuff like this even covered?
I'm on the hunt for winter tires right now as I should be taking delivery soon, so I'll definitely keep an eye out. |

These were definitely pros as it looks like they had no problem removing your wheel locks.
Glad it wasn't your summer wheels, although you may want to install cameras when you have those wheels installed. |
