How can i remove water marks?...

Hi guys,

Does anyone knows if there is any "spray detailer" that can remove water marks?... something that can easily be found from Autozone or PetBoys or Kragen... any ideas?

Thanks!

Don't know of anything available locally. You either need to polish the paint, which ideally should be done with a buffer or try the Chemical Guys Water Spot Remover. This is the only spray on product that I know of that can remove water marks that is not a polish.

Most car washes use an acid bath followed by basic rinse to neutralize. Many soaps are acidic as well.

We use diluted Lime Away on all the boats and watercraft to remove spots followed by a good waxing.

Try a light polish like Megs Scatch X. Most water marks etch the paint slightly.

I've found the opposite to be true. The spots are mineral deposits left behind when the water evaporates. They are little ridges on the paint, not in it. Polishes only serve to wear out the paint on either side of the ridge as you grind it down. It may feel smooth afterwards but you are taking away the good with the bad. A mild acid solution dissolves them because the minerals are base. Follow that with Clay Bar and wax.
