How long do 4 coats of Zaino last?

So, how long do 4 coats of Zaino last? About 5-6 months in my experience.

I did my first 2 coats in September and then applied another two coats about a month later. Since then (it's been winter) I've been washing with Z7 using only Z6 to finish and it has lasted well. I washed today and the Zaino still beads well, but it's not the same crazy hydrophobic beading as you get with a fresh application. Time to re-apply I think.

Still almost six months between "waxings" isn't bad. Zaino really is less work than the cheap stuff.

I am addicted to Z8 and finish every weekly wash with it. It's more sealant than Z6 and it helps prolong the beading. I use it for the extra shine it leaves (better finish than Z6 IMO). I would bet in La Jolla you could push 6-8 months with Z8. It's more expensive but I like it much better.

Still, I agree, Zaino actually means less work over time!

Good info...I just ordered the "Zaino Ultimate Protection Show Car Kit" and am anxiously awaiting it's arrival.

It's good to hear feedback like this on the product; Thanks.

I have the Z8, but I find that it doesn't buff out as easily as Z6. So if I'm not doing the full Zaino treatment, I just use Z6. Z8 on a black car is really hard to get looking perfect, whereas the Z6 is a quick detailers best friend.

If you are having streaking problems, mix z8 with distilled h2o 1:1.

A few years ago, Guru Reports tested something like 40-50+ waxes/sealants and measured beading after 8 weeks. Zaino had a passing grade (C, C+, something like that) at the end. This was one of the best scores of anything they tested. That report and the raves from my Acura TL owning son are what got me to try Zaino for the first time.

The new CS product is supposed to be good for something like 6-9 months on a single coat and can be layered over the other products. Once the weather improves enough for an entire weekend to be sunny and warm, I plan on using it as the final step in my process.

Use less Z8 to avoid the streaking issue. One (not even full squirt) should be enough for the entire hood.

My trick with Z8 is to apply a spritz to the MF towel and then take it to the car. I've never had any streaking problems but they have been reported here before so it does happen. I apply it very thin and light and marvel at it's shine.

I get 5-6 months out of Z2pro and Z5pro. FWIW (this may be an unpopular opinion), I find layering and "coats" does nothing. As long as you have proper coverage I've seen no benefit, aesthetic or durability, from adding more "coats. Actually, until a few years ago no one even talked about layering in detailing.

But ya, Zaino is definitely one of the more durable sealants.

Go with Zaino. Z2pro every 4-6 months and z6 after every z7 car wash. You can dilute Z6 1:1 with DI water.

I use (2) three-quarter squirts for each half of the hood. That's four squirts of Z8 for just the hood. Guess I rub it in well because I don't have any problems with streaking. I love how good the stuff smells. From how much of the bottle I've used so far, I seem to be using just over an ounce of the stuff every time I do the whole car with Z8. I know it says you can do an average sized car in half an ounce but I really love spraying the stuff because of how good it smells. I'm addicted.

hehe -I guess that's my problem too - the smell is intoxicating. They should bottle it and sell it as perfume 'eau de Zaino'.

I don't know that it's THAT good that I'd want to wear it as cologne.

I did my first wash and seal with z7, z-8, and for some reason I see this thin layer of pollen or whatever that keeps sticking to my car, did I not apply enough z8?

On my ex black Touareg I applied 2 coats Z-5, 2 coats Z-2, and it was still going strong 5 months later.. It was in all day sun 50% of the week.. I was amazed at the durability, even with weekly washings.
