Magnaflow part# 14816

Who has this installed on their e90 sedans? I recently just got this off a forum member and I took it to a guy I know to have it installed, and he check under my car and said he has to take the whole exhaust off from the front of the car to be able to put this muffler on with the custom piping or else it wont fit properly and it could take upto 5 hours to have this done. (Custom piping is already done on the muffler). Anyone want to make suggestions on what to do? I didnt have 5 hours to wait and get it done so I'm like I'll wait and see when I have time to bring it back. What do you guys think? Take it to another person and have them price me and tell me how long it should take to put on, because the guy that had it on before me, I think he had it on his car within an hour

EDITTTTTT:
#1 Pic is attached and the question is, How did you get to the top of the pipe to weld it with the axle in the way?
#2 I took the car to Midas, and they said $150, and I said bye

sounds like he saw a BMW and thought he could make some extra cash to make up for his slow biz.

sounds like he is trying to make a "legit like" excuse to rip off someone.

sounds right. never had a magnaflow take more than an hour. i usually did mine during my lunch time break. and i had it placed on a honda mazda mercedes and never had anyone tell me they need to take off the entire thing to place a muffler.

i would check midas (the brake place) and see if they can do it. sometimes they got a good guy in their bay (needle in a hay stack) and hand them cash and will do it cheap.

yeah I know it has to be welded on and need to make a hanger I believe, but that guy was saying he cant really work on the car unless he takes the whole thing off to have more space.....

yeah I am going to check at Midas right next to my house and see what they have to say about it. I took my car there the other day, and they were closing so they told me to bring it so he can lift the car and price me

yea he dose need to make one hanger but take one of the ruber boots from the one not used and there is one a hanger on the top of the car where u move the boot to and then weld a new hanger. no need to take out the whole muffler.

There is no other work need to be done, just weld on the muffler.
Maybe you can try another muffler shop.
