2007 E92 CPO in Canada
Hey guys, I don't know if this is the right place for this question but I am currently negotiating the purchase of a CPO 335i coupe with a dealership in Canada. It's a 6MT sports package with the 19" wheels with 40k kilometers and they are suggesting the price around $35k. Which seems pretty reasonable but nobody seems to force it as a fixed price and I don't want to come out with the salesman laughing behind my back. Is there a great market for manual cars out there? I always thought they were harder to sell than AT. I just graduated from university and this is going to be my first big purchase so I don't want to regret it. Whats suggestions/tips/tricks do you guys have over negotiating the price and things to look out for?
P.S. the forum is great. Lots of good info. I know similar questions have been asked before but I wanted to know if there was something specific in this case. Thanks. |

What other packages did it come with? What condition is the car in?
As a reference point - I just picked up my 2008 E92 BSM 335i with 6MT, Premium, Sport, Nav, Comfort with 40,000KM for $39.5K. I know a 2007 E92 Monaco Blue with the same packages as mine (minus Comfort) sold for $33.5K. Both are CPO'd cars from the dealership. Personally, I went with 2008 for the extra year of warranty and I don't like owning the first year production cars (bad experience). |

Thanks for the info. The one I was looking at had the sports package and the premium package. Thats it. It did not have the navigation console and I do agree about the first year model thing, I guess that is the reason I did not go ahead with the purchase..

Go to a couple BMW dealerships and tell them what you're looking for exactly. What colour, what year, what packages, transmission, etc. and your target price. They'll keep an eye on their own lease returns and internal auctions and when they see it, they can let you know. It may take a few months, but at least you'll have the car you want. I did that and got the exact car I wanted, and at a price I felt good at. No regrets!
Even with my complete failure of an iDrive (I have no working audio in the car and an annoying buzz), I really enjoy the car. |
