335i to M3, back to 335i
Just looking for some opinions. I had an 08 E90 335i slighly modded with a dinan stage 2 flash. Great car, had a lot of fun with it. I then picked up an 08 E90 M3 also slightly modded with pulley, air filter and rpi scoops. Probably my favorite car I have ever owned but all good things must come to an end. That car went back on lease and I am now looking to purchase another 335i. This time around I will be owning the car and wanted to go a little further. My main concerns are performance, but at the same time I want to do my best to protect the major engine components. I have about $8,000 to play with after purchasing the car. If anyone has a 2008 to 2010 E90 or E93 with manual transmission and under 30k miles I would be interested, PM me. Anyways here are my plans:
2008-2010 E90 or E93 335i (AW) Juicebox 4 AMS Intercooler Active Auto Blowoff Valve AFE cold air intake Remus Sport Exhaust (need something on the quieter side) H & R Sport Springs 19 inch BBS CH Matte Black or 19 Volk TE37 Matte Black This would be about as far as I can go with my budget. I wanted something that will look good, go fast and not overheat. I spoke to my mechanic who works on a lot of these cars and he said with this setup car should put down around 400 rwhp. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you want to protect your major engine components you might want to look into the threads regarding basic engine tuning and timing and choose your tune accordingly, based on how you interpret the thread of course...

+1 on that.. Its the one key thing missing from your list, but other then that it looks good.
If your budget is maxed then skip the exhaust and get the DPs. I think you will be happy with the stock exhaust and catless DPs, in terms of sound and performance. The stock exhaust system is actually pretty good and the power gains from an exhaust are predominantly from swapping the downpipes! Mike |

If you want your engine to last a long time I would suggest researching all the tunes. Im not going to throw any names out there because Ive had enough of these stupid battles but a tune that controls timing is essential for your engine health.
PS: Jb4 doesnt have control on timing...DO YOUR RESEARCH *cough* get the v5 *cough* |

I have 93k miles right now and have tried just about every tune.
GIAC has been the smoothest and have had no issues. Im surprised why you want to go back though. I'm looking to go M3 when I'm done with my car.

Im not going to get in to an arguement as this thread is not for a tune war. But IMO COBB is better than PROcede, and will be much better when stage 2 comes out. OP, you can make your own decision on that one.

M3 is an awesome car. Don't want another $1000+/mo payment. will look into the GIAC. They had a nice write up about it in grassroots motorsports (335i project car)
