M3 mirror conversion
I have a E90 LCI and hate the way the mirrors look. I want to do a M3 mirror conversion. How much would it cost and whose done it?

straight swap... i have em on my E92 but your looking at $1400-$1800 depending on if u have high gloss trim and want fold in option on E90 or E92... and then of course you have to have the mirror caps painted!!

Someone already did
There was a post - he said they are basically a fiberglass totally one-piece housing that you have to swap in all your mirror mechanical parts to make it work. He ended up not doing it...

Well that was a fail on his part that he just "quit" because he had to swap over the motor onto the m3 mirrors... it states you have to do that to make them fold anyways.

Here's the link to the mfg. 'Cargym' mirror details:
http://www.cargym.com/bmw-e92-e93-co...07-p-1544.html And from this post where someone tried them: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ight=m3+mirror 'Alrighty guys and gals... So I finally received the M3 mirror set, which took about roughly two weeks and was expected as they came from China. My initial thought upon opening the box was nice!! They looked bad ass! My second thought when I pulled them out was, whoa, these things are freaking heavy! Upon closer inspection I noticed a few blemishes throughout the black part of the mirror housing and that the cover was not a cover at all. The entire mirror is a fiberglass mold of an M3 mirror and you will not be able to swap them out as it is one solid piece. I contacted CarGym and they said the blemishes were because of the fiberglass and most of the products come that way. The mirror is just your basic mirror like the one you get all sexy in during the morning at your home, nothing fancy. Once the mirrors are purchased, you'll receive an e-mail with instructions on how to install the mirrors, which I'll post up along with the mirrors themselves. I did send them out to paint and will attempt to install them on Monday 20th so I'll report back on my findings and have some close-up pics of the mirrors and installation instructions.' 'Back with somewhat of a verdict... The paint shop where the mirrors were done would not touch them fearing mechanical failure because of the work required to do the install correctly, yet stated they were still unsure if they would work at all. I then took them over to two other locations that deal with BMW vehicles to get a second opinion. From their outlook, both stated the mirrors would not work without somehow altering the inside of the mirror housing to correctly house and hold the motor in place, but would be pointless as the mirror would not work properly. Not sure of the work required to have em’ work properly or if it can even be done, but will put them up for sale if anyone is willing to give it a try.' So if you're hot on installing these - hit him up, looks like he'll have no problem getting rid of them...

I had a horrible experience with ebay once for buying splitters but it was resolved eventually through paypal dispute. it was a waste of time. typing essay like replies for the paypal dispute case to prove my point was already time consuming not to mention taking pictures and videos of the product. all this back and forth caused stress and time. Paypal does not cover everything. I had to pay the return shipping on my own dime. What a hell of a transaction. never parts for my car on ebay again. Its safer to stick to vendors here

I have purchased 5 sets from them. One set is M5 style, they all look perfect. The seller is really friendly as well.
If you want some pic of my car, I will post them for you. All are manual Fold, electric glass adjustable . I think the Cargym also takes source from where I bought the Replica M3 Mirror. They do have M5 for S5 as well. Here is the website ( Thailand) www.nvdautosport.com I hope you will like them He was a vendor on this forum but not anymore. Very recommended! |
