6FL USB Interface

Hi guys,

on 57, 08 and 58 plate cars, is 6FL included as part of the Media Package, or was it only available as a completely seperate option?

Whilst I appreciate its an expensive retrofit, just how expensive is it to retrofit 6FL to a car with the Media Package but no 6FL?

Whats the deal on the retrofit? Seems to be £273 for the part - 65-41-04-45-465 is the PN. But then it needs coding. I'm fine with fitting the physical stuff myself, but obviously coding is a different matter. Is it a dealer only job?

I need to know whether I need to reject any E92 I find without 6FL, or whether I can budget for a retrofit

I consider it pretty much essential - I'm after something with similar functionality to the Intravee II I have fitted to my E39.

Have a look at the Dension Gateway 500..it's an aftermarket ipod/bluetooth interface..a lot cheaper than BMW 6FL retrofit and no wiring/lead/device box visible..almost OEM.

It was an optional extra over the Media pack on my 09 car. I wouldn't buy a used E9x without it. There are plenty out there to choose from so I don't think you will struggle to find one to suit. Either that or negotiate with the selling dealer to install it for you FOC to get the sale. (Assuming you are buying an AUC of course!)

I have a Dension gateway in my other car and it works fine, but the functionality isn't a patch on the built in option.

Sadly I wish that were the case - there are very few 330i/335i M Sport's with manual boxes in Coupe form, and even fewer with Pro nav in the first place. They number in the low hundreds on on 57-58 plates

The Denison Gateway 500 is about £300.

I'm sure I've seen people saying they have had iPod integration retrofitted for under £400.
