e92 black metal door exterior surrounds marks?

Hey all,

Thank you davidN and Picus for your threads on detailing you have given me the insight and courage to do it myself. After 6 hours my 2007 E92 looks awesome!

So much grime came off with the clay i couldn't believe it. The car was washed twice before as well to be safe.

There is only one thing that is now letting my car down and that is some marks on the black window surrounds. Some look like water marks and some look like oil marks. If you remember back to school days of tie dye... It has a similar oily multi coloured look instead of a clean black sheen. Any ideas on how to get rid of this?

The steps i took today.

washed the car twice with autoglym shampoo. All my products today were autoglym as it seems the best available in the UK. Zaino was talked about with a chap from a chipsaway who uses it on his '88 alfa romeo.

Used the surface detailing clay kit and a bucket of hot water to make it malleable. The skirting and rear bumper were really bad and took ages even for a novice.
Then the high definition cleanser. wipe on and wipe of before it dries.
Then the high definition wax to finish.
Turtle wax back to black for the tyres and Autosol metal polish fort he exhaust.

Cheers again guys.

if you're talking about the rainbow color on the black gloss trim, any polish on it will get that out. I had that on my car and polish took it right off.

Hi Nick,

Thanks for that. I didn't want to start rubbing and find myself replacing the both strips. Will give it a go in the morning with some mild resin polish.

Cheers again.
