Does anyone think that in a year or 2 to come, BMW will look into the popular traction issues of the 335i and install an LSD..........which will become standard????

From what I've been reading it seems only ///M cars came with LSD, so I guess it's just a BMW thing. They don't want to compete with themselves in that respect perhaps.

No. Traction is ok.
They have a lot better alternative for those who need even more traction; xi. Designing a compromise in between 2 good solutions does not make sense commercially. |

BMW stopped putting LSDs in all thier cars except M cars back in the late 90's.
They won't be adding LSDs to non M cars anytime soon. I know some 'connected' people and trust me, it ain't happenin. Just add it aftermarket with the Quaife ATB LSD. There will be alot of us with them in our 335s really soon !! kj |

If they put LSD, they will have to mark up the price by at least a couple of thousands. I know nothing about BMW's past, so I'm speaking from solely my point of view...if they put LSD in, the price mark of the 335i may just be too much for some people's taste. I know I may be turned off for sure as when I was in the market for 335i, the price looked very attractive. A couple thousand more would make it almost hit the $50,000 mark which is not all that attractive for me right now.

I wouldn't completely count it out, perhaps a ZHP option with the face lift but even then it's probably a very remote chance.

The e46 330ZHP didn't have one, and neither will an e90 ZHP if they make one.
I will bet you anything you like, a NON M car will NOT have an LSD anytime soon !!!!! It's an option on the CooperS because it's FWD and you get less Torque steer with an LSD. All the 2.0T GTI guys are putting in LSDs because when it's tuned, you'd get a ton of torque steer at the wheel. It'll never happen in a NON M car...... just the sad reality of it. If you want LSD buy an ///M or add it aftermarket. kj |
