Getting difficult spots off factory wheels
I cleaned my wheels with Sonax and some Daytona speed brushes. For the most part it did a very good job, but there are a few spots where the Sonax isn't cleaning in the inner part of the rim. What do you suggest for cleaning those hard to clean spots?
Thanks. |

If you are saying that there are tough spots to get off, then I echo the comment on a clay bar. Just be sure not to ever use that clay bar on your paint ever again. I keep one in my stash that is marked "for wheels".
If it is just a hard to reach spot, even with the daytona brush, you may have to remove the wheels. I usually do this twice a year, just to get the wheels fully scrubbed down once in a while.

I keep everything for the wheels separate from the body tools with the tires having their own cleaners, brushes, and of course microfibers. |

Daytona brush is WAY too soft. What I would do is take wheel off the car and try Sonax with a stiffer brush. I only use Daytona for maintenance

I wondered about that. The Daytona brushes seem really soft. They did a good job of getting the face of the wheel and even the back side of it clean with the Sonax. The areas of concern are in back half of the rim where there is a ridge in the middle and it looks like brake dust may have collected for quite some time without being touched. I'm probably going to have to make a project out of it, but I can't imagine having to put sealer on twice per month. I read somewhere else that Klasse AIO lasted for quite a while. Any comments about that sealant for the wheels?

You can use any sealant you use on your paint on your wheels but remember the life expectancy of those is far reduced due to the temperature and elements your wheels receive being much harsher.
I use the PB wheel sealant as it's very easy to apply and remove with the wheels mounted, use it about once every 4 weeks which also is how often I use a wheel cleaner, P21S in my case. The wheel cleaner will strip it, I use car wash soap and brushes and mitts every week or so. Klasse AIO will work just fine as will any other but use one that is a WOWO product for your own ease of use. |
