MUNICH...Anyone joining me?
Hi Guys! I leave for my ED in about 36 hours FINALLY the wait is coming to an end and I get to see my little creation and test her out on the autobahn! I'm so excited!
Anyway, just thought I'd check to see if anyone was doing an ED on Mar 8th? Let me know! It'd be nice to meet some of you e90posters! And don't worry, I'll post tons of pics of the trip when I get back next week. Thanks for all your info and support. I LOVE this forum!!!

Damn I'm so jealous!! I go to Germany all the time for work but I've never had time to play around that much. I did get to go to Munich for a weekend and I saw a World Cup game in Dortmund which was awesome but none of that compares to taking delivery of your own 335 there...
I'm doing that on my next one for sure. Have a great trip! |

what time are you getting down to munich for pickup? im an american living near nurnberg. i can get down to munich in less than an hour on the autobahn in my 335i. it is too bad that you can't get your car with 1200 miles on it so you can really see how it will perform. you are going to be passed like crazy on A9 doing 180 km/h

Yeah, live about an hour from Munich myself. You're going to hate it on the autobahn not being able to push the car. I can do 155 mph and I'm still getting passed. It sucks, much worse when you can only do 130 or so and still keep it under 4500 rpm.

luwi, i'm excited for you! looks like you're picking up a car very similar to mine. another thing that caught my eye is that you're from southbay, cali. is that anywhere near southbay bmw in torrance. (basically, i'm saying i have no clue where southbay is.. haha) you think you'll finish the break in while you're in germany?

I'm taking delivery of my 335i coupe on March 9th. My flight doesn't get in until 1030am on friday however. If you're going to be in Munich for the weekend, let me know. I'd definitely be up for grabbing a beer. I even purchased that "beers of munich" book, so I hope to have some time in the next few days to figure out where the best places are. Congrats on the 335!

Aww thanks for all the replies and funny commentary. I guess no one's picking up their ED on Mar 8th. I actually am on a tight schedule. I pick up on Thur and head out to Innsbruck/Milan early Fri am. Or else I would have loved to stick around Munich and meet some of you folks close by there. However, I'm traveling with 3 other individuals who are determined to see all of Europe in like 5 days!
Esquire...I do live very close by to Southbay BMW. I'm in Torrance/Redondo Bch. Are you from around here as well? AND 335SC you should definitely do an ED. Hopefully mine will go smoothly and I can highly recommend it when I get back AND redmtclimber...Rolf is picking me up from the airport so if you were offering a ride, thanks so much (that's so sweet) but I got one! I am gonna be peeved when all these people will be passing me by on the autobahn. I'll go as fast as I can while keeping below my 4k rpm i guess Can't wait to tell you guys all about my trip!!!

luwi,
yeah i'm relatively close by. i live in orange county, anaheim hills specifically, but given that my dealer is in torrance and i only work about 30 mins away, i'm in the torrance area on a not too infrequent basis through what dealership did you arrange your ED? since you're car is so similar to mine, i think it's only fair give me first dibs on those new car pics haha.

Congrats!!!
I am actually in Europe right now! I picked up my 335i on the 24th and had it for 1 week. I put on just over 1200 miles in about 6 days! Be VERY careful in Italy! They are absolutely INSANE in the cities! We stayed just outside of the city and I had someone else drive me into the city in their car and I was still scared! Have a Fantastic time! You can still go 90-100+ without going over 4000 RPM's! It's a BLAST especially since you won't be doing that too often around LA! ha ha
Good luck!!!! |
