how do i remove the dealer logo crap from my trunk?

forgot to ask the dealer not to put this sh%t on my car. it looks like simple glued sticker (it's not a sticker, it's like one letter by one, individually glued on the trunk). i might be able to pull it off by hand... advice on what to use? tar removal? i don't want to risk messing up the paint.

wow that sucks... never knew they did that to cars... the only references on my car to my dealership was the temporary license plate that said the dealer name/location

darn, can't plug anything in my garage (renting, no electric plug anywhere)

wouldn't the tar remover dissolve the glue, or is heat the safest bet?

treat it as a debadging and you can either floss it out or just pull it off

yeah all BMW of SF cars get that sticker on it. it's horrible lol

What the hell? I had the exact same sticker that I removed using my magic hands. Those are individual sticker letters.

Yeah I have had the smae problem on and off with cars, unless you ask them not to they will label your car for some free advertising. Either tell them to take it off or you can use the above mentioned ways and they will work fine. But honestly depending on how long it has been there you can sometimes use your fingernail to get it off then clay it.

A lot of dealerships are doing that now. Either putting decal or their own badge. To take it off, dental floss won't work with decal like with badges. Here is what you do...
Go to a local Autozone or Kragen's, and buy sticker remover spray. Spray it on a corner of each letter and try to lift it up. It's a pain, and can be time consuming. I used to help my friends out all the time. They were sponsored so they had to put decals on during car shows, but they came off the day after.

After the decals are removed, there may be an imprint on the car itself, so wash the area and wax it.

I completly agree, thats why I always tell everyone to make sure they tell the dealer to not mark it before they leave the lot and if they already have complain and make sure they take it off

Haven't seen this in So Cal...yet. Make your dealer give you a key chain for your troubles. Your sales guy would probably get you something cost free if you ask. Goo gone works well with stickers. Good Luck

I'd get the dealer to remove it. After all you didn't ask for it and it's not a standard part. Details on the number plate or removable window stickers are one thing, but that's over the top.

That is unless they want to lease the advertising space for a reasonable monthly cost

this isn't very common in california, but yea, bmw of sf does that to their cars.

try using a hair dryer to heat it up or leave your car in the hot sun for a while. then carefully peel away the decals using your hands. you're probably going to wind up with some adhesive residue on the paint, and this can be cleaned with some goo gone. after that, clean up with some car soap and water, and finish it off with a layer of wax.

I would not even let the dealer wash my car. Been doing it for years. "OK now we will send it to make ready and let our guys rub grit infested chamois(sp) all over it". NO THANKS, and would you please get all your logos off MY vehicle. Heat is neat for you.

I took a Big Sticker off my Maxima 2 years ago. I used a hair dryer and blasted it HIGH on the sticker. I should have done it for a while but I only did it for 8-10 min and I just started to peel off the sticker, some of the glue(?) from the sticker was still on the car. So i started pickin it off, their was a little bit of residue still left so i used Acetone (nail Polish Remover, Not too much!! it can damage paint) put it on a newspaper and wiped it gently. Looked perfect right after. trust me it worked. I even took the nissan logo off because I was bored lol, put the nissan logo in the glove compartment, looked nice
