Hyperblack looks more gun metal but in the picture it looks like black rims. Is this correct?

From all the pics of the hyperblack VMRs I've seen, it depends on the lighting. They look black in low light conditions, and brighter, more of a gunmetal or almost silver in good lighting. Can anyone confirm?
