Hks bov issues

Hey everyone. I posted about this issue before on another topic but got no response. I'm hoping I get some help from here.

So here's my problem: I took my car into the dealers because of a high pressure fuel pump recall and they also had to do a software upgrade as well. Keep in mind I had the hks bov installed before taking my car in and it was working fine. After i get my car back my bov performing the same. Now I have to rev pretty high Rpms in order to get a little sound out of it where before it would blow off at low Rpms. Also when I'm at wot it hesitates to blow off. Any ideas?

Could have something to do with the software upgrade and wastegate position. Or maybe the tech somehow screwed with the vacuum lines going to the BOV?

What RPM do you have to take it up to in order to hear the BOV? What did you have to rev it up too?

One thing you can try is to rev or drive immediately after a cold start and see if you hear it during low rpms.

With the new software, I have noticed the wastegate position is changed around 30 seconds to a minute after cold start.

I'm having a hard time justifying the software affecting my bov. As for the Rpms I have to take it to about 5-6k. I used to be able to hear it go off around 3-4k. But also when I go to wot around 7-8k rpm it hesitates to blow off.

+1 on the synapse! But seriously, I believe it may be the update. I installed my ER CP w/ Synapse BOV after my HPFP replacement about two weeks ago. In order to hear the BOV, I have to take it up to 3500 + RPM to hear it. My friend has a AA BOV kit and I can hear his at 2000+ RPM! He has not had the HPFP replacement & software update. I wish I would have had my BOV kit installed before the update then I could answer your question efficiently.

I'm not running a tune, but my friend with the AA Bov kit is running JB3/Map 3. Hmmmm, I may have answered my own question!

You definitely did. Tune=higher boost levels=more compressed air to blow off.
