LCI E92 - 2010.5 or 2011 - ????
Can anyone explain wtf is the difference between a 2010.5 and a 2011 LCI?
This news article says clearly 2011 models - my car is identical to those listed. http://www.themotorreport.com.au/487...ad-test-review BUT - if you check out Redbook it says that 2011 models start in Oct 2010. Mine is built 07/10 and complianced 10/10. So what is it.... and what is the difference between a 2010.5 and a 2011?? Cheers ![]()

It does not explain the difference between a 2010.5 and a 2011 model. And doesn't explain why Redbook classes MY11 cars as being from Oct 2010 - when clearly from the magazine link I posted earlier from August 2010 - they were calling them 2011 models... and my car is Identical to them. So I would have thought my car was MY11.... but according to Redbook it is 2010.5 (whatever the f**k that is) ![]()

It could simply be that cars manufactured in Oct 2010, wont be complied until Jan 2011 at the earliest (ie by the time they are delivered etc), hence it is a 2011 car. Yours, is a 2010 car, but as it is the LCI, the 2010.5 distinguishes it from the 2010 pre-LCI cars. A few Oct 2010 build cars may have crept in before 31 Dec but that happens.
Even if there is no physical difference at all, the fact that one is complied in 2011 and one is complied in 2010 makes them different. Holden had a TV advert saying just this recently. They had a 2010 and a 2011 Cruze and advertised that they were both physically the same and same spec (both were overseas models too) but the 2010 was $1,000 cheaper. |

BMW start production of the next model year in September. That is when they introduce all the running changes for the next year. I think the magic production week is 46 from memory.
I would say that the .5 designation is for cars made in the final quarter of the year that carry next years spec.

Hey... well with such attractive avatars and all, I couldn't resist... :P
I have been lurking on the site for a while mainly using it as a news site, but decided I should start posting again and getting involved in the discussions.
