I want to get downpipes but not sure which to get, so here's the question

So go catless since the stock exhaust is already restricted from the resonators?

AR, Active, Macht all good?

Thanks

If you have an e92 there is not resonator just 2 more cats and mufflers. The stock exhaust with catless DPs has a real nice sound to it. And yes those are all good brands.

Are the ebay ones putting up less power? I'm confused.

Fitment issues are more prone with the ebay ones from what I've read.

the difference in power is pretty negligable between the 2.5" or 3" downpipes. if you're worried about loosing power with ebay pipes, it won't be noticeable.

(this is just my opinion) active autowerke downpipes are no better than the ebay 2.5" pipes, and i'm willing to bet they're made from the same chinese "stainless" steel. the differnce is they are marketed by a company with fanbois. i'll admit the ar, cp-e, and matt schnell downpipes are nice, and made in the usa. but to compare AA dp's to the others is just plain dumb.

1) they're not made in the us
2) the largest manufacturer of stainless outside of the us is china
3) they have the same cheap, shiny appearence of the ebay pipes
4) AA's intercooler is an overpriced ebay core

.....etc etc etc

After getting burned by some raceland pipes that didn't fit and leaked, I got some AR design downpipes that were just awesome and fit perfect. I took some comparison pics of the stock to the mistake to the AR pipes. Check them out. They're expensive, but have a flawless fit and finish.

I just bought some riss racing downpipes ... 3''. +30hp, +50tq gains. I'd recommend getting something good. AR Design is good, Riss Racing, CP-E is also good. CP-E is made somewhere near where we are.
