Is anyone else as interested in high flow cats as I am. It seems like it will open up a helluva lot more power (with a chip like procede) and sound amazing. Here's a photo.

I like the idea of cats that you can bolt and unbolt. What would be nice is for someone to come up with a downpipe that will place the cats lower down the line of the exhaust. Also making it simpler to swap for a test pipe.

yes, they are for the 335 and here is the link below, they are about $2,600. I've blown money on worse things than racing cats.

I'm going to guess the pictured high flow cats are not for the 335. First of all the twin pipes coming off the down pipe are 2 bolt flanges, not the 3 bolt flanges as pictured. Also, the secondary cats or whatever you want to call them (cats after the downpipe) do not have an O2 sensors and the Supersprint ones show an obvious O2 bung.

Also 2600 for highflow cats is robery, so is charging for one muffler at a time.

Seems odd that the supersprint E92 cats would cost $800 more than the E90 cats.

Based upon the bends in the pipe, those actually look like replacement secondary cats. In which case, I'd rather get the new magnaflow secondary cats. They're ceramic and the casing is spun around the cat. Can't find the one I'm actually talking about, but this link is pretty close:

Also, I second what all8up said. Secondary cats on the 335 do not have O2 sensors, and those pipes are not bent properly to be replacement primaries. Also agree with his assessment of their pricing. I can easily get an entire custom stainless steel exhaust with the magnaflow cats I mentioned before and get alternate sectional pipes so you can remove the secondary cats for off-road applications for a little more than half what they are charging for their cats. Unbelievable.

wait.... im confused here... if the procede can simulate the post cat o2 sensor then whats the point of running cats in the first place ????

Here are some reasons:

1)Welfare of the environment

2)Many of us live in states in which they do an annual visual inspection as well as emissions testing every couple years.

Yea thanks I didnt think so. I understand R&D takes time but not having a single true turbo back setup is getting annoying. Ive got money burning a hole in my pocket right now just waiting for a nice sounding turbo back so my car can breathe.

Well you can always get a catback in the time being. Whenever the downpipes are released (from most of the vendors), it will likely fit to the same flange as where your newly installed catback is going to be.
I suppose someone might build a downpipe that does not mate up to the stock catback location, but I find that unlikely.

Get the catback, and do the procede - Vishnu already has a map out for catbacks anyways. Those two mods alone will cool off the burning hole in your wallet.

they do that here also ... but as long as you have an obd2 car all they check for is a CEL and shove a mirror under your car to "look" for a cat... half the time they dont knwo what they are even looking for .... and for the times that they do know i've allways just welded a shell of a cat over a pipe so it looks exactly like a cat..... kind of sneaky but hell it works !

You can go to a muffler shop and have them weld you test pipes for $100. That price is beyond ridiculous.

Yeah I noticed you lived in AZ (couple of my college friends live in Scottsdale) and they mentioned the testing there is a joke to say the least.
To give you some insight to what happens to many of us on the east coast. Emissions stations will plug in a sensor in the tail pipe and put the car under load (dyno rollers) and measure the readings. The only exception to this is if your car is AWD and their rollers cannot support that and in that case they will often just put the car in neutral and measure the readings.

wow that really sucks.... i know they put cars on the rollers here but usualy thats only if there obd1 or older .... they may measure the exhaust in park but honestly i've gone through w/o cats on my other car and didn't have a problem at all,
