FYI: TMS Performance Software for BMW E90/E91 325i & 335
From TMS web site - http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html...CT_ID=TN52-ST1
Part #: TN52-ST1 Applications: 2005 - 2006 325i, 525i, Z4 2.5 (E90, E91, E60, Z4) It's here ! Turn your E90 325i into a 330i (or 525i to 530i, Z4 2.5 to a Z4 3.0). After all - your 325i engine is IDENTICAL to the 330 engine, except BMW "detuned" the computer. Stage 1 is a reprogram of the current software of your engine computer. We modify the computer's fuel and spark mapping, adjust the throttle, adjust the cam and Valvetronic timing, and remove the top speed limiter - basicaly "unlocking" the 330 in your 325. This is the perfect upgrade for someone who wants to boost power, especially in the mid-range, and make the car accelerate faster. We recorded a gain of 19hp and 15ft-lbs of torque on our Dynapack dyno. There are NO downsides of doing this except 91 or higher octane gasoline is required. Stage 1 includes: software upgrade Peak HP: 219hp @ 6400rpm Max HP gain = 19 hp @ 4700rpm Peak Trq: 200ft-lbs @ 4500rpm Max Trq gain = 15 ft-lbs @ 4500rpm Sale Price: $769.00 Not bad - the market warming up. |

does anyone else see this as false advertising. i hope considering they are "BMW specialists" that they know there are differences between the 325 and the 330. they are either lying or dont know anything about the motors saying this will turn your 325 into a 330 and to me that its a lose lose situation either way

I was looking at the dyno results and they tuned nice for a daily driver. The biggest gain (~19hp) around 4500 RPM, where I’m usually spending most of the time…. The top end is drops a “little” probably because of lacking the 3 stage intake effect, but it may be corrected by providing more air thru air filter ( like M-groppe).
In regards to 40 hp difference between 325i to 330i at the engine, 19 hp gain at the wheels and short differential can translate to significant gain in performance. Anyway, it is the best software performance gain on the market today and I’m waiting to see how the rest of the software gang; Superchip and Bimmerworld will react. . This statement from TMS web site does sound like a "little" marketing hip, but this only a Stage 1 of reprogram and Stage2 probably will come with additional parts and better HP numbers. Let not forget that Turner have 2 winning E46 last year and they have plenty racing experience. Additionally, BImmerword working on further developing of there’s #36 E90 325i sedan for next racing season. I’m not saying that I would need same type of car for a daily driver, but it nice to know that 325i have a potential for significant improvement.
I personally still have of 4 years of warranty left that I wasn’t ready to give it up for other 10HP re-flash. If HP gains will be much more significant and the price more affordable I will seriously consider to drop some $ |

I'm interested, but same price as procede for the 335i? Its just not worth it due to the amount of boost. I am definitely willing to wait for a decrease. Loook at how much the good air filters cost for N52 Set up. Come on now. |

I love it when people run their mouths.
Tuner doesn't know anything... that is the funniest and stupidest shit I have ever heard. Turner are a wealth of knowledge when it comes to tuning BMWs. You guys need to do some research and get your stuff straight. And by the way, I think they released this stage 1 for the 325i to get something out so that everyone will know what is coming down the pipe. Anyone who says that beefing up the midrange the way this software mod does is useless should re-think. Whether or not it is worth the money is another story... |

The manifold has valves, flaps and motors, it is controlled by the ECU. There's a thread devoted to it's operation in this very forum. Here, educate yourself: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37444 And I believe someone on here tried to put it on a 325 and couldn't get it to work with the ECU.

The questions is...couldn't some big time tuner like Turner manufacter a 330 like intake manifold, modeled after the OEM part and sell it with the ECU upgrade..instant 325 to 330 conversion? Or is the manifold really that difficult to build?
