ouch 800grand in damages -bmw toronto.

searched on forums didnt see a thread so i decided to start this one sorry if its double post.

my friend works at bmw toronto (tech) a few weeks ago he told me that a manager was moving a car (on the x floor *cant remember but it was high*) to be prep'd so it can be delivered to a customer who bought it. apparently he popped the clutch, paniced and drove the brand new bmw (dont know which one) into another bmw car.. that car went through 3 pains of 10ft by 4ft glass and sent shards of glass crashing down onto 5 bmws.. *thats the story he told me it could hav happend a little differently but thats the just of it*..

he sent me a picture today and i thought id share it with u guys.. thankfully no one was hurt.. if there were ppl around the 5 cars below... well i think bmw toronto would be out of business.. heres the pic of a car that was down below... the window that broke was in the bmw poster that is usually up on the right side of the windows.

I'm sure having the glass panes of the showroom repaired cost an obscene amount of money

Thank goodness for insurance, but very likely their insurance rates will go through the roof, no pun intended.

Several weeks I drove by Saturday morning and saw few cop cruisers outside and building gutted open with no glass of one portion! Could be this incident?

I don't think those cars in the display are real. I know they have vehicle shells that are just a lightweight frame with the body panels for those displays (I've seen one in the dealership's parking lot).

And last week I saw a boarded up pane of glass too. So it sounds like that is the same incident. Luckily no one was hurt.

That would explain the boarded up window I noticed when I drove by there a few weeks ago.

Wow, that's crazy! I guess it could have been worse if people had been standing below the building. That's my favourite BMW dealership in Toronto though - always treated nicely there.

Everyone makes mistakes. If this happened somewhere else with a lesser known company, no one would even know other than the people who work there. I'm pretty sure the dealership has insurance to cover for things like this.

Wow, that is some serious damage. I was wondering why some of the glass was boarded up at the dealership this week.
