335 break in

My car should be delivered by the end of the month... i wanted to get some oppinions on the break in... 1) Should i break in the car for 1200 miles? 2) How should i treat my 335 during the break in (can i red line it when i go to pass on the highway or not even that)? any oppinions and/or experiences would be helpful...

i broke mine in hard and the engine exploded at 1200.01 miles. It is a fact that if you attempt the hard break-in your moter will implode. If you attempt a bmw recommended break-in your car will be a very slow bleeding vagina-mobile. If you don't believe me.........

Drove it fairly hard. Not abusive but did rev it up there. Seems to have gotten stronger with time, 4800 miles now. This is me, do what you think.

Garage List
Dealer said that non-M cars DON'T need a brake-in per se, with the exception of not going over 100 MPH. Also, when I asked if I need to change oil right after the break-in, the dealer said NO.

the only thing u want to baby is the clutch. Use the engine to slow the car down(engine braking) while varying rpms for the first two hundred miles. Everyone does it differently. I would stay below 6k rpms for a few hundred. You gotta run it hard a few times just dont get crazy.
