161 wheels with 255/40/17 all around?
im trying to run the widest tires on stock 161 wheels with sports suspension on a E90. i want to run 255/40/17 on all 4 corners is it possible? i do most of my driving in the city with rough roads so i want to stick with 17s. any input is appreciated

I don't know if you can do it, but whether you can or not, I don't think it's a good idea.
The sports package on the E90 is designed to run a staggered setup with 225/45/17 on 8" wheels up front and 255/40/17 on 8.5" wheels in rear. If you go with a square setup, you'll deviate from the setup BMW designed, built and tested under various conditions. You'll undoubtedly change the handling. I wouldn't run a 255 on an 8" wheel. Unless you get a set of 8.5's for your fronts as well, don't do it.

Are you talking about four 8.5" wheels or 255 on the 8" front wheels?

I guess you've got the 8" front wheels then.
