Hello all,
I never had this situation comes up in all my years of buying/leasing vehicles. My car is due to port on 3/23. The holiday credit will expired on 3/26 (90 days from the ordered date of 12/26). The CA said I can sign the paperworks for the lease first and then pick up the car. He said that if there are issues with the car, they can work something out for me. I'm not an attorney here but by signing the paperworks, I am obligated to take the car, right? Anyone done this before? Thanks. |

Hey Red,
I signed papers before I took delivery on my 2008 335xi. And yes, once you sign you are obligated to take delivery. However, if it saves you $ and you know you want the car, I would sign. Good luck!

A few people here were in a similar situation. BMW still honored the credit even if it was after the 90 days. I'm not sure if I would sign and start a lease for something I don't have. If you bought 12/26 it should be here and it's not your fault it isn't. If they can't honor the credit, I would just walk!
God forbid, but something like this could always happen. http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2011/...tlake-village/ Last edited by mr_milo; 03-22-2011 at 02:23 PM.. |

Mr. Millo,
Originally the CA told me that they would extend the credit past 90 days if my car does not come in on time. That CA has since left the dealership. The new CA told me he checked with BMWFS and is not able to extend the credit. I agreed with you that BMW should extend the promotion due to shipment delays. The funny thing is my dad ordered his car on the same day I ordered my car and his car was at the dealership 2 weeks ago. Go figure. PS: The link you had on your post did not worked. |

I have not picked up my 335d yet. Its due in Port Hueneme just after yours (March 31st). My CA at Seattle BMW said it would be in by April 11th. Regarding your situation, to save $1,500 I would sign. Mr. Milo is right that there is some risk during transport. But, there is risk as soon as you drive off the dealership lot too. Its totally up to what you are comfortable with. Even if the worst thing happened and your BMW was damaged in transport, you could probably get out of your deal. My bet is your dealer wants to recognize the sale in March. Perhaps you can negotiate a March 31st signing date? Are you planning on posting photos of your BMWs? I would love to see them ![]() Cheers,
