Reapplying wax on top of sealant
I've done full details with synthetic sealants and full details with carnauba. I've replenished my Griot's supply and I have both the BOS Wax and Paint Sealant. I'm thinking about doing (with my random orbital machine) the sealant then wax routine. My question is what to do in three or four months down the road when it's time to reapply the BOS Wax. Do I strip everything off and start with new sealant and then new wax? Or can I just put the BOS wax on top of the sealant? If I do that, what's the best way to prep for that without stripping off the sealant?

I think that depends on how long the sealant lasts. I layer carnauba over sealant in the spring and then add another coat of carnauba toward the middle of the summer. Usually the car is pretty clean so I just wash it a few times instead of removing the sealant. This gets me through the net few months until I remove everything and put the winter application on.

I seal twice a year but layer wax every 8 to 10 weeks in between no issues. I also "boost" the wax with DG Aqua Wax about every third wash/week or so.

Bobbles regimen works really well! every year we polish it and its a simple two step (one to remove majority of the defects, and one to amp the gloss to a whole new level. I have done other cars in the same color and they just have me come out once a year..2 steps to get it 80% where Bobbles car is in the 90 perfected range and has more gloss! May not sound like a big difference, but the jump in defect removal and the gloss is well worth his waxing time!!!

Without a doubt the waxing adds the gloss not much in the way of protection over sealant. Like Eric said you can get the defects worked out and keep it up that way. Waxing with modern WOWO waxes really only takes an hour to do an entire car every other month. The boosting with the DG Aqua wax is a no brainer as I spray on while the car is a little wet and it helps with the drying as well. I use a QD all the time too. Yes I am anal hell I washed my car Tuesday night between rain storms. I have a problem I fully admit it

Step 1. Sealant Step 2. Carnauba Wax Step 3. For gloss maintenance use DG Aqua Wax? Step 4? Where does Quick Detailer fit in? Or are QD and DG Aqua Wax interchangeable? |

I am assuming that DG aqua works much the same as the gloss enhancers I use. They are basically quick detail sprays with a bit of sealant added to them. I use them after my weekly maintenance wash. The QD I use for touch ups but gloss enhancer I only use after a real wash.

I like the sound of this Aquawax, thanks guys. If I had read up on it on my own I wouldn't have thought that the sealant would bond properly on top of the wax. But, I guess it works.
