Looking for a Canadian Success Story

I have a 2007 335i E90 that was ordered with SA64 (telephone prewire) however the original owner did not order the Bluetooth option. I am considering having Bluetooth installed into my car as per the procedure below:

http://www.bmwtis.com/tsb/attachments/B841405_E9x.pdf

Has anyone had success here in Canada with this install?

I asked my SA and he told me I could not do it. I called BMW NA and they said i could and also confirmed that I have the prewire in my vehicle. On a side note, I've confirmed I have the prewire as I have the bundle of wires in my trunk under the floor panel.

I'm in calgary and I've asked my service manager to review the attached PDF to see if they are able to install for me.

Has anyone had success with their dealership here in Canada?

Well I spoke with the service manager with Calgary BMW and he confirmed that it is possible but it would cost me $4000 to $5000 (closer to $5000) as the parts would come from Germany.

Its a shame it costs so much. It's crazy that BMW does not come out with a cost effective option. The mark up on parts must be crazy!!?!?

If you buy all parts from BMW it's about 700-800. Then you just needed installed and coded. You have the prewiring and that's the most important.

Forgot to add. When I asked my SA if it was possible in my car he said that I wouldn't be able to since I didn't have Bluetooth prep. I checked my car and it was prewired so don't believe everything your dealer says. From my understanding all cars in Canada from 2007-2009 are prewired and if your not sure just check for the wiring in the trunk for your answer.

I would go with this solution. For 700$ you get GPS, Bluetooth, ipod, DVD and more.

I wish there was a garage that specialized in retro fit products for BMW.

Garage List
2007 328xi  [0.00]
I had mine installed by my local dealer. I bought a used bluetootho module from a local memeber that came with the mic. The dealer installed and programmed it within a day. What they did was they "borrowed" an overhead console with the SOS button to programme my car and reinstalled the original in my car.

If you can stand having an error when you start up, all you need is the bluetooth module, the mic and I believe that's all you need on your end to have the dealer program and install it if your car has the telephone prep. To get rid of the error, you will need a completely new overhead console with the SOS button, which was around $700 if I remember correctly.

It will be cheaper if you order from Tischer and have the dealer install, although it seems like the Calgary dealer doesn't really want to do this, which is why they are telling you it cost that much for it.
