DeBadge an XI??
SO i know there is already a post about this, so dont yell at me for saying this again, however... what do people feel about debadging an XI ??? when i was younger i though that the xi's were more of a "wimpy" bmw, but now that i am getting one i'm feeling that its not wimpy, just more safe in the winter time. so my question is, if you paying an extra $1900 for the X-Drive, is it s stupid idea to debadge the car?? what do other think..

Are you debadging because it's an XI, or because it's a 325? Nonetheless, it's fine, don't know why people make a big deal outta this. I'd rather see debadging than 19 inch ghetto rims and smoked headlight covers--yak!

debadging should have NOTHING to do with the model of the car. If it does, that means you are doing it ofr the "wrong" reason, IMHO.

Unrelated to Xi's, but I want to debadge my 320d. The only thing stopping me, is poeple thinking ohhh the poser...debaging his diesel. I donno, still on the fence.

Go ahead!
I ordered my 325 debadged. I think it looks better; more clean. And really why bother about the "poser" problem?
Anyone who is genuinely interested in BMWs can spot the model anyhow and they should know you know that - and understand you did it for looks. .jay-jay |

the same fools who paid 5-6k more JUST to get that the "30" instead of the "25" badging. Some ppl have actually stated "why debadge a 330? i paid for that!" pathetic. debagding looks better, no matter what anyone says. when i'm not so lazy, i'm gonna get around to doing it myself. i personally would definitely debadge a 330/325 xi. 3-4 characters on the back of the car is already too much, i dont' want to add any more!. I wouldn't, however just debadge the xi part. that would be stupid in my opinion. either take the whole thing off or leave it on. |

I don't understand the whole debadging thing. When I picked up my car in Germany, I saw a large number of 3ers that were debadged. Are these people that are ashamed of the 320d, or are these people with a 330 that want the surprize factor?

OR...if you dont mind what people think of your car, you do it simply to make it look "clean" and not have the added "chrome #'s" on it. I personally wouldnt de-badge mine because i do not like the look of the plainness on my Arctic color.

If you still want to debadge, then do it because you like the clean look on the trunk, not because of what others may think. |

i'm dont really think i plan on doing it - it does look really nice, but i'll have to see about it... i wonder if it would change the re-sale value of the car in like 8 years if i plan to sell it.. hm..
