Oil Change "southshore"

I just picked up a 335i and figure to get an oil change.

WOW I called HB Boston for a quote then this girl picked up the phone and asked if I wanted to reset the light?

Me: "isn't it part of the oil change?"
HC: "no, if you want the lights reset it will take extra time/wage"
Me: "oh ok, well how much is it"
HC: "hold one...2 min... hello sir, is going to be $240"
Me: "oh thanks"

Then I call Norwood Gallery and they said $140.

Is it really that expensive to get an oil change at a BMW dealer? And they don't reset the service light for you unless you pay extra?

I'm guessing you're out of warranty? If so, I'd just DIY. It's pretty straightforward and shouldn't take more than 30min, start to finish.

Service light takes about a minute to reset, if that. There's a guide in the maintenance section.

Oh really? Do they use bmw products for the job? Do you know about how much they charge for the oil change?

They can order and use bmw products on your car if you want. I did my last oil change 2 months ago at the dealership and will be bringing to their shop on my next oil change. The owner used a be a bmw master technician at the norwood dealership.

+1 on Alvin, he was BMW tech for years at a local dealership and now opening his own shop in Braintree.

I've used Alvin before and he is a nice guy. He did try to align my coupe as an e91 station wagon so that has left some bad taste in my mouth. For an oil change he is a good resource.

I also highly recommend Alvin, know him for many years. He use to work at BMW Norwood for 13+ years until he open he's own shop

all my friends go to him, (I don’t cuz I DIY most of my maintenance)…tell him Tim Chan sent you if you do go
