Gear "kick"

I feel a small kick when the car shifts from 1st to 2nd gear and sometimes from 2nd to 3rd gear. This is when I drive with the automatic gear, when on manual I can avoid the "kick" by smooth shifting. on the Scanner I have no indication of any error, also no errors on car dashboard.

Do you have an idea why this is happening?
I have a BMW 325 2006 with 81k miles on it.

thanks man for the reply,
Nope, I haven't yet. The BMW Repair Center will charge me 39$/l for the fluid. The whole repair will cost me around 800-900 $. they said i also need to change the trans fluid filter + some other hardware.

since m running low on cash, new car, I want to make sure this is absolutely necessary before going ahead and saving for the change.

I did the throttle reset & though I didn't feel a huge difference, this is something i can live with. m driving on manual almost all the time.

if you have a bav tech cable, try resetting the transmission adaption values. I get a bit of kick too with my 335i but when i reset the values it goes away for 300 or so miles. Not sure why its kicking either. I havent changed the fluid yet and im at 63,000 miles.

It's important to change the fluid regularly. At least every 40-50k, but 30k is a better interval. It's expensive, but a new tranny is much more expensive. Try your best to do more than a drain and fill.

Drain fill, cycle through the gears, then drain and fill again. This ensures that you get the majority of the old junk out.

They are currently out of stock on their kits but contact them. They get new shipments regularly.

TurkeyBaster and Chriztopher have pioneered the way with alternative oils if you want to risk it. Pentosin, Motorcraft Mercon SP, and Castrol Multi-Import are what they recommend, in that order.

but bmw tranny fluids suppose to last a lifetime(100k miles)
mines kicks at 2nd gear , mainly at low speed(like 10mph)
also im out of warranty so the bmw dealership can just suck it, i rather pay a trusty indy shop to do it for half the price
FYI i was qouted 300$ for the tranny flush and thats with bmw oem tranny oil
