How long does fitting take (i.e. is it a while-you-wait job do-able on a Saturday)?

No programming or coding is required.
We'd advise leaving the car with us for a day in case of trouble shooting. Saturday's won't be possible as most dealerships only run a half day strictly for routine servicing.

Folks, I had this installed by Barons in September 2009, they charged £500 IIRC. That was before VAT went up course. Some dealers were quoting £750 plus.
So I'd say this is a pretty good deal that Anneka's come up with.

Mike.

Yes, but unfortunately I think the emb*ggerance factor of getting to and from Chigwell (let alone any of the other dealerships) on anything other than a Saturday writes it off for me.

It was cheaper last year I note. And by more than 2.5%.

The RRP of the upgrade has significantly increased (as has the price of most things, due to factors beyond my control). I have personally negotiated with BMW UK and as stated this is the best that I can offer. Please only post if you are genuinely interested.

We can only take weekday bookings and can organise a courtesy vehicle if required at an additional cost.

Fair enough. I was interested which was the reason for asking the question. Unfortunately, I can't get to any of the participating dealerships on a weekday so that rather kills it for me.

My stereo says Professional on it, does that mean it's not suitable?

Without sounding pedantic Anneka, I thought it was a fair question to be asking why the increase.

As above.Anneka,I remember you mentioning on a previous thread that this upgrade is not suitable for the professional system-any update and how would this differ from what Chris and I already have?

Why is the price of the saloon more than for a coupe?

The Proffessional head unit will be fine as that comes with the base sound system. Its the BMW Business upgrade or the Logic 7/HK upgrades that are
not compatible with the Alpine kit. To put it simply if your car has tweeters on the inside of the door mirrors then its already an upgraded system and it wont be eligable.

Because the coupe has frameless doors, meaning the housings where the tweeters live are just triangular panels in the very corner of the door.

On the saloon and estate models the tweeter housing is part of the whole door trim, meaning the while door trim requires replacement, which is more expensive than than coupe's corner housing.

Sytner Chigwell

Anyone had experience of Sytner Chigwell fitting these things in the past?

I'm really interested, though will I get a good job carried out there, is the work warranted?

I'm new to BMW and Sytner, so haven't got a clue!

Cheers for any advice.

If you have professional radio, you can usually have the Alpine Hi Fi installed.
DAB tends to be a problem.

If you're unsure please send me your vehicle details (last 7 of vin, or original reg).

Thank you to those who have already enquired

Hi Cyprio,

The retrofit will be warranted for 2 years on parts and labour, even if your car is out of warranty itself. The warranty is only on the installation itself and doesn't cover you for non related items.

Kind Regards,
Anneka
