Transmission help
So my transmission (Automatic) has been acting up for a few weeks. The only thing I could guess it would be is the transmission fluid. During light acceleration, the shifts from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd seem to slip a little bit. I know BMW doesnt change transmission fluid, so that is why I am seeking advice. I did have a transmission fluid leak earlier this year, I didnt loose too much though. One thing that came to mind is maybe they didn't put any back in and I'm a bit low on fluid?
I stopped worrying about it for a while until today when I used my BT cable to scan for codes, this is what I got: Gear lever (GWS) Current Fault Codes 024B: Gearbox control unit Electronic power steering Current Fault Codes 024B: Dynamic stability control DXC8 Plus - E90 Current Fault Codes Longitudinal dynamic management Current Fault Codes 025D: Transmission distribution module Current Fault Codes 025D: I found all this pretty strange. It seems not many people have encountered this problem. Any help would be appreciated. Exactly like this but not quite as bad: |

Would you stop trolling my threads? This has absolutely nothing to do with the JB4. And dont try to tell me it does because thats not helping me and you are just derailing the thread. If you want to argue start a new thread, the JB4 doesn't "put more stress on the transmission than other tunes."

Its quite ibvious the transmission is failing due to the increase in torque. Anyways not trying to piss you off, Im sure youre pissed enough. Good luck |

Okay im not going to get into this because I just want a few helpful answers. But if it were the tune then there would be 100's of threads exactly like this. I am not the only person on here running increased boost. There are people with much higher HP cars than me that haven't had any issues. Of course any increase in power comes with an increase in stress, but I dont believe that to be the problem. Also, I was referring to the post on your other account where you said "JB tunes put more stress on the transmission than other tunes, because JB tunes create boost so fast."

Im just saying that more torque=more stress I really suggest you get the transmission fluid changed(maybe its low on fluid who knows) Just change the fluid... Then if nothing changes, bring it in to the dealer are you still under warranty? |

There are so many people on these forums that are running high amounts of torque with no trans issues. The only one that I've heard of was Hotrod's but he was running 15 psi plus nitrous. It has nothing to do with a tune.

Zf rated this tranny to a maximum of 332ft lbs of torque bit of course they can handle much mkre than that, but still increasing power by that much obviously puts more stress on it. |

Well I spoke to my service advisor and he informed me that they NEVER change the tranny fluid except when a repair is involved. I had my sleeve replaced and they changed the fluid for me. |

You said this and I very much disagree with you. "Myoriginal post said it had to do with a TUNE! Its quite ibvious the transmission is failing due to the increase in torque. Anyways not trying to piss you off, Im sure youre pissed enough. Good luck" I agree that more torque puts more stress on it, but it's been shown over and over that this trans is much more capable of torque over 332 ft lbs lol. People were saying that boost over 14 psi isn't going to be reliable for this engine and I have 95k miles and running strong so go figure.

Most people with a/t never change the "lifetime" fluid( lifetime=total bs) thats why problems occur. |
