Cost effective BOV that works?
What is the most cost effective blow off valve for the money. I think $600 for a bov is absolutely out of this world! What's my best option guys? Maybe look for used one on here or is there a good one new that is reasonably priced.

lol where have you seen a bov for 600 ? 500 with a charge pipe is mostly what they go for, but even then I think it's over priced, but besides that everything else will be shit so just stick with the stock one

Just save that money for forged dvs instead.
Our car wasnt designed to work with a blow off valve. For those of you who are going to disagree, this is a quote from Shivs site: Q: I am very interested on installing a BOV (Blow-off Valve), is that going to be a problem? A: It is best for one to resist the temptation of installing an aftermarket BOV as our cars were not designed to release excess boost pressure into the atmosphere. Doing so will effect the PROcede’s tuning and cause the car to run poorly. The car was designed to recirculate that excess air back into the intake system. Bleeding off the air that was accounted for by the MAF sensor will confuse everything. |

Seriously, I am not trying to be rude but you are blatantly wrong. It really shows a complete and total lack of understanding on how the N54 works. This car is a T-MAP car and the DME cannot tell the difference between DVs or a BOV. This is a utterly inaccurate statement. |

I saw the Helix one and it looks like a nice setup. I was actually thinking of getting it myself. They have a filter on the BOV that prevents dirt/debris from getting in. Its reasonably priced too from what I can see.

Unplug one diverter valve... BOOM! Instant blow off valve.
In all seriousness its probably not something you wanna cheap out on. Buy a quality kit... |

Hey Dado,
We have both the AWE blow off valve that can also be used as a diverter valve. Its kind of the best of both worlds (just incase Shiv is right up top). Its on sale until the 15th of April for 299$ plus shipping. Here are two pics of it. Its a quality kit at a reasonable price. We have them in stock ready to ship out so let me know. |

Speaking of which... can anyone provide a feedback for the Helix BOV kit? I see they are somewhat popular in the MINI crowd...

I have an install video for it on youtube: They are $315... We also have a set that was on our shop car and are selling them with new hardware to install the kit. Price for those is $240 and they are in great shape. |

Alex,
Thanks for the info. I've already seen the videos for your kit. I was asking for input from any users here that have already purchased your kit. Vasil
