**N55 Turbo Upgrade**

I know there are plenty of threads on this same topic being asked, but I want to see if anyone is making any headway in this department.

I'd be willing to give my N55 335i up for testing/fitment to whoever is serious about looking into upgrading our single turbo. I hope all of the big players in this field can chime in, I live in So-Cal , Ventura County but if its not TOO far I'd be willing to drive.

Anyways if anyone is making headway or needs a N55 in order to do so let me know and maybe we can make something happen, I know myself and the N55 community would def like to see this happen. I'm still noob mode on these forums so you can email me at eugene.makarov@yahoo.com or just post on here.

Not to be the negative one, but not only do they have to come up with an upgraded turbo, but they would also have to come up with a new manifold and DV setup with it... The Twin Scroll turbo on the N55 is all built into the manifold (it's one big piece). So it's not as simple as the N54 where you could simply remove the turbos and replace as need be. I hope someone comes out with an upgrade, but it's not going to be a simple matter of swapping out the turbo for a new one...

I would think custom manifold + big turbo + dv could still be done for relatively not that much.. assuming one has a piggyback already

once the turbo situation is tackled with the n55 motor( not talking about a disco potato, an actual size bigger turbo) the n55 motor should be easily capable of 500hp..soon, ladies

There's a lot of things that will come out before an N55 turbo upgrade...

if not just because aftermarket companies need time to be able to R&D a solution, but also because the N54 market is much larger and N54 owners are starting to lose their factory warranty, making them much more likely to take on a bigger project

Considering the N54 took 4 years until we started to see upgradse, I think the N55 guys have some time to wait.

I feel that it will take at least a couple years for this to even get off the ground. Especially with the new M3 coming out the focus will be on upgrading that car as well.
