Compression test - 1st in 3 years :)
Had a compression test done at BMW the other day. Numbers look great, all cylinders close to each other. This was done with a BMW tool following their documented procedure. End result is this tiny card about 1.5"x1.5" in size thought you might find it interesting to see

Roughly speaking the lowest cylinder was about 18.2 bar which is roughly 264psi
and the highest one was 19.5 which is 282psi. I don't know what the spec is suppose to be, but they all seem high to me. I am used to seeing pressures in the 150-180 range on all the cars I ever did. |

I'm used to seeing 180-200 for lower compression turbo cars (8-9:1).
If that chart is including atmospheric pressure of 1 bar, the numbers would be in the 240psi range mostly. Probably good for a higher compression DI car. |

no matter the numbers (hi or lo) if they are all consistent thats what matters.
if the concern is carboned up combustion chambers, it would show in areas of drivabilty |

Recommend everyone especially those with upgraded turbos or those about to get them to test your engines and see where you stand..in case numbers don't look right I'd stay away from further modding and trade your car in
