Is the deposit on the car fully refundable?
Short story,
I walked into a dealership couple days ago and put down a deposit on the 335. The car is not in production yet for another almost 2 weeks. Is the deposit on the car fully refundable? Reason being that I just found the same car on the lot at another dealer for extra $1500 less and I don't pay a cent on metallic color (another $800, however I don't care for metallic color - just a bonus). I am willing to stay with my deposit and wait for the car as long as they much the price that other dealer gave me. What is your take on this?

Guys, I need to finalize this in the next few hours. If someone had any experience with deposits let me know.
Thanks

You need to ask the dealer where you placed your order. Most dealers have a policy on no refund once a production slot is issued. If they will refund the deposit ask if they will match the other price, if they will they keep your production slot and take the extra cash. If not and they will give you the deposit back then buy the car you want and not what is available to drive off the lot today.

It can be different in each state, but here they are required to refund any deposit.

Your refund option will be on the back side of your buyers order. Im most states, if you havent signed the final paperwork, you are still entitled to a refund.
Again, call dealership or look at the back of your buyers order. |

Like others have said, it depends on your state's laws, the Uniform Commercial Code, and the "plain meaning" of the contract you signed.
You also failed to explain what the purpose of your deposit was...
