Thats a fair price when you see the cost of a decent Parrot system, fitted.
Presume then its an iDrive car?

www.mobileinstall.co.uk click on factory handsfree then click on bmw
didnt have a sharkfin ,didnt have the phone cage fitted ,theres no need ,have a look at the website see what you think? i could have had a parrot fitted for about 150 but its looks ugly in the car ,and wanted as oem as poss ,did i pay too much though ,because it came up in my first search ,and he was pretty local ,i'm pleased with it ,cheaper than bmw doing it lol Last edited by chrismanchr; 04-08-2011 at 04:43 PM.. |

The fin isnt a requirement for bluetooth - it houses the external aeriel for use with the phone cradle (Among other things, but this is the phone aspect of it) and if you are using the Bluetooth and not the cradle then this isn't used.

Good call. That looks really good. I want one!
I've got a fully integrated Parrot with Connect2 steering wheel buttons control but this looks miles better. |

Ah.
You've had Parrot Bluetooth kit fitted, not a BMW Bluetooth kit. Yes, it works with the buttons because they've used a Connects2 wiring loom. The bad news is that for this, £345 is very expensive. These kits are about a hundred quid plus 40 quid for the Connects2 loom and fitting is not difficult. Wont it wont do, IIRC, is display phone details on your radio display. It'll have its own seperate display (Or no display at all if its the base model). |

theres no separate display
i know the difference between a parrot system and this as i had parrot in my last car ,which was very good by the way ,but like i say i didnt want the unsightly display ,i wanted it to work like if bmw had fitted it ,which is whats happened i'll post a vid or pic if that convinces you Last edited by chrismanchr; 04-08-2011 at 03:55 PM.. |

If you have a ULF module - look under the floor trim in the boot - and do not have bluetooth there's a few people who've wired in the mike and bluetooth antenna then recoded.
Our pre-LCI E91 has USB so comes with ULF. I have about 90% parts but battling with ULF pins and antenna lead. The loom is £140 quid but no need for this if you don't want the centre console eject box. Parts cost so far ~£60 and estimated cost for recode is £60. I'll post part nos and the like once I've determined it works for me. Or let you know if it hasn't! |

he definatly unwrapped and installed 2 modules of some sort ,and the mic of course ,i couldnt have done this myself ,there was little information about this on the forums ,there were a few threads about installing it ,with a long list of parts and coding required ,it works ,its very oem looking ,and its way cheaper than bmw could do it
