Cobb AP 201 back to 200 on manuals?

I'm not digging the sudden power surge from the 201 map. There is a thread where Cobb suggest switching to the older map200 but only for manuals to get rid of the power surge.

Anyone do this?

I am going to switch to v2.00 map tonight after work, drive around and then report.

Ok so I switched to 2.00 Map on the way home from work. I noticed the power surge at partial throttle was gone, but now I experienced the issue with lifting off the throttle and it felt like I was still accelerating for a second or so.

This only happen a few times though was not every time I lifted.

Same exact thing here! I also switched to v2.00 93 octane map and I am observing the exact same behavior. I can replicate the problem almost every time I step on the gas: the car will continue to accelerate for an extra 1 second or so after I've lifted off the pedal.

Ya I drove the Cobb with the newer map and realized the surge right away. I was like WHOA.

Wouldnt be ideal for someone road racing that likes a linear feel.

Might end up facing the wrong way LOL

I was just about to switch to 2.00 for the linear mapping myself but I'm going to wait since you both report the issue with lifting...hopefully this gets sorted out soon - shouldn't be a big deal to get a linear map that works well, right?

For the record everything else about the Cobb AP is the

The lifting issue was common but it only happened for a short time after flashing. Drive around a bit and it goes away. It did on my car.

That would be good. I did not notice it this morning. Is this common with WOT liftoff, or any liftoff?

I only noticed it during light throttle driving for the first few miles of driving then it's gone.

Alan - you're happy with 2.00 then over the less-linear 2.01?

Nah. It's so easy to switch maps it's really not an issue. It's not like it's BAD with 2.01, some people just have a preference for more linear mapping.

Car is a beaaaaaaaast either way - this tune is fantastic

i feel like with the stock tune, the power isnt that linear, it really comes on hard at about 3500rpm, so is this 2.01 map just an accentuate that

Interesting, I think I had the software update on past services though I don't see it listed on any of the orders.

My car stock feels smooth yet lacking in power. Also I notice my wastegates are now (with the Cobb AP) making more noise which kind of confirms my theory about the updated software.

Obviously due to the Cobb tune keeping the wastegate closed instead of the half ass software fix of leaving them open.

Has anyone tried loading the other map and reset the ECU? I know you shouldn't have to reset the ECU... But the huge lag is now gone for me.

So I drove for a bit on the v 2.00 and then I switched back to 2.01. I think overall, the 2.01 maps are better because there is no "surprise surprise" after you let off the gas pedal, like there is with the 2.00 maps. They still need to work to make the 2.01 maps a bit more linear and not as "explosive", but I recommend that you use the 2.01 maps.

Thanks for the update.
I guess it's best to wait for the latest maps that will be released with stage II (I hope).

I have been driving on 2.01 for a week and either I've adjusted, or it seems like the surges are not as prevalent as they were right after flashing.

When did 2.01 come out? I haven't had my car for a few weeks now but i never experienced the power surges, so im pretty sure im at 2.00.

I'm taking in my 535 today to have the " Wastegate Retrofit " done.

I wanna get the car close to the way it was before they did the Emissions Recall. It use to be throttle happy but after the reflash, the car feels lazy under light throttle.

Hopefully this helps, and then I will load the Cobb tune after I get the car back.

I can't wait to feel the difference.

Just to follow up on this - I had been running 2.00 for about a week. It's not quite as smooth as 2.01 and, even after a week, I'm still having that lifting issue....

Went back to 2.01 this morning, which I did get pretty accustomed to the last time I was using it, but I'll be really interested to try a more new and more linear map when (if??) one comes out.
