I might be crazy but...
I noticed my car was running about 10-15 Degrees cooler than usual today on my ride home from work. The only change I made was I removed the front plate frame yesterday after getting home from work. I dont really see how this could be the cause. The frame does partially block the air intake/front grill as you can see in this pic:
but it doesn't seem like it is enough of the total area to make much difference. Is it possilbe that more than blocking the space it causes turbulence that redirects the air away from the cooler? Then I started wondering about the thread where folks reported their average temp and there was quite a bit of variation and I was wondering if the hotter folks correleated with the ones who have a front plate? It seems unlikely. I am going to keep an eye on it and will report back as I see if the lower temp trend continues. |

It is very possible. It could be the weather as well.
There was someone that did some very minor adjustment to the front bumper to allow more airflow and got about 8-10rwhp on an E46 with supercharger and front mount, can't find the link...
