personally, I would have called my insurance company who might have totalled the car, that or ran it off a bridge.

would never want to own that car from that point on. Mold gets into every little thing, their surface cleaning did not get it all......no way. Good chance there was toxic mold in that car. Dont f w that. A professional mold remediation company for your home costs BIG bucks for a reason.

as a detailer, I wouldnt touch it w a 10 ft pole.

that car is ruined IMO.

I hear you, you have to wonder what's hanging around in the HVAC system. He says he steamed them but I'd still be a little nervous

and in the entire dashboard, behind the door panels, above the headliner, INSIDE the seats, etc.

the list goes on forever of places you cant erradicate mold in a car.

I'd be very nervous driving that car, especially because I have mild asthma, I feel like the first time he nails the AC, his car's gonna smell like death. I have no doubt the mold infiltrated the AC lines. I hope this cleaner dude ran the AC on full blast circulating the steamed air in order to kill some of the mold in the AC lines. That's nasty though, I'd cry if I came home and saw that in my car.

Kudos to the detailer for taking that job, but +1 to all the kill it with fire suggestions. Hope the owner is wise enough to sell the car right now and cut his losses. I wouldn't want to drive it again.

Yeah mold is bad. It gets into everything and you a lot of times you can't even see it. I would have gotten a professional mold remediation company too.

Pretty shitty of him if he sells the car and doesn't include pics of the before look.

Wow, the detailer did a great job with that car. I would never get inside of that car again though, no matter how perfect it looked.

Garage List
The mold will be back without a doubt. Even with keeping the moisture out, there is mold in the HVAC system, within the foam of the seats, under the seats, behind the dash assembly, roof liner and any other spot that could not be physically seen.

That car should have been written off or as the someone said, drive it into a river! That is a health hazard. I think having mold in a house often comes down to removing the wallboard and replacing them along with any insulation behind it.

I totally wanted to puke!

No one is stupid enough to think that car is safe to be in. What scares me the most is that car probably belongs to a family with kids (why else have an all-road... especially one that messy). We've all seen the home improvement shows, where the surface mold is cleaned, but tearing down the drywall reveals black moldy insulation. This would be no different.

The floorboard must be rusted out by now...
