bald tires yet this car still performs!
I've gotten 24k miles on the car and the rear michelin ps2 rft are shot. they are beyond the wear marker, probably 1mm above the base of the tire and the tread maybe 2-3% tread left. The fronts are still at 65%.
But damn, these tires are so good when I punch it, they will still grip in dry pavement. But what surprises me the most is even at 80 to 100 mph, the car still drives smoothly. No shaking or vibration for such worn out tires. The car's tolerance and suspension is really great. This is the ultimate driving machine! However, yes, in the rain, they will break loose the second you gun it. i think these tires are worth their price. I intend to drive to -5% tread and see how they hold up! a lot of other Japanese and Chinese tires that are put on my acuras, toyotas all begin to go out of balance with wear and the car begins to exhibit more vibrations. |

the amount of damage an exploding tire at 100mph does it ugly.

Great, so risk your life, and others as well. Be responsible for once!

DO NOT do this... slicks are not legal on public roads for damn good reason. Without tread, they are downright suicidal in the rain. The fact that they "break loose when you gun it" means that they suck equally hard at stopping and cornering! You are putting your car, your life, and the lives of those around you at great risk if you ever drive on these tires on a wet surface!!! |

Slightest amount of water on road = imminent accident. Or you'll blow your tires.
Keep in mind it's most likely illegal to drive on bald tires, and insurance will decline your claim. Sorry it's buzz kill but thats the reality.

Really? Threads here are getting stupider by the day, this is ridiculous.
The wear bars are there for a reason. Why the hell would you ever drive to -5% tread?? That makes no sense, and creates a dangerous situation for yourself and other drivers. You need new tires. Stop trying to milk it and go buy new ones.

I see no way anything could possibly go wrong here.

I see that you are enjoying your tires... thats great and they are great tires. and yes, they are way better than most average tires. I am so totally with you on that. I am glad that you are happy about it.
now that I got that out of the way, let me politely and gently tell you... GET NEW TIRES! please, before you get into accidents... you dont know when you might slip on fwy going 90mph. |

PS2s are great tires...if you think they are good now, you will be surprised how much better new ones are.
I hope that Michelin releases the new Pilot Super Sport tire as a RFT. Although I can not imagine what those will cost. Drive safe. |

just a joke guys... calm down. Not gonna drive till it blows up. I'm down to 1mm, will be replacing in a couple of days. I have a brand new pair in my garage that I just bought.
I'm just surprised at how they still grip with no more tread left. |
