Generals or Hankooks?

I dont wanna drop too much money on tires and these are two of the more common choices (not just here with bmws, a lot of vw and audi guys go with these two brands...when tire stretching isnt concerned)

So, what are your guys's experience with the Exclaim UHPs and the V12 Evo K110s??

-handling: wet, dry, snow (yeah...i might run them in the snow)
-tread wear
-noise
-durability (potholes etc)
-anything else you deem necessary to include

I'm leaning toward the hankooks, theres just something about the generals i dont like. i had a set of wheels with them on and for some reason they didnt seem like they gripped too well at higher speeds in turns. (they were on for a very short time since i was rear ended soon after putting them on a previous car of mine)

Anyway, any input is appreciated guys!!

Agreed.

While the Exclaim UHP was a soft riding tire with pretty good wear for a summer tire, it was not as grippy nor did it have great cornering characteristics. I'm speaking about the tire in the past tense because it has been discontinued.

If you're after better handling and steering response then stick with the Hankook V12 EVO.

Hankooks.

I just sloshed through the rain in the DC metro area, zipping by the idiots who think they can handle the wet.

Sheeesh..so glad these tires lived up to their rep...like a walk in the park...20K miles and hardly any treadwear...

I've ran FK452's, Gen UHP's, and now have the Achilles ATR Sport, and prefer the Achilles (so far) over both of the aforementioned tires.

The Gen's were my least favorite! Got really loud and once tread wore a bit, they were terrible in the rain!

Never ran the Hankooks, but hear great things about them for the money.

Exactly what I was going to say Gary.

I would recommend looking into the Hankook's as an alternative now, since the Generals are discontinued. If you are set on the lower cost of the General's, you may still be able to find some distributors still stocking.
