hotchkis brace
Does anyone know why they discontinued making the under chassis brace. I wanted to buy one to help with exhaust rattle and to stiffen up..the vendors still list them on their sites..however they don't directly stock them..it allgoes through hotchkis..which for some odd reason they quit making them..any idea why?

I called Hotchkis a couple weeks ago and they said 'not enough demand' so they stopped making them. They didn't even have one laying around or a return or anything. Maybe a group buy of 20 or so would help.
One of the vendors here said they don't work unless you have the M3 rear subframe bushings installed first. |

well im demanding..hahaha!! im sure they would stiffen it up slightly, but my main reason for it is to clear my exhaust pipes..ive used spacers and washers to move it farther away from the pipes, but still a slight rattle..and the farther away i space it out, the less effective the stock brace is..maybe another manufacture will make it..another vendor said cusco was possibly have one soon

Yeah, I bought one of a member in the GTA and he only had it for 2 month in winter, so I thought I was getting it pretty much brand new but with all the salt they put on the roads, when he un-installed it, it was rusty, so now my brother is getting it re-painted at his buddy's shop, so it doesn't rust again. I hope.

i have this bar installed. it does stiffen up the rear. it's very thick though. I had to double up on washers where the bar mounted to the frame and add some tape between the bar and my exhaust pipes so it wouldn't rub. I'm also
running the Cpe exhaust. this bar will not pair up with the stock exhaust. I'm also do nOT have the m3 rear bushings. |
